Incredibly Versatile Stereo Pair of Condenser Mics Having used a matched stereo pair of Beyerdynamic MC 930 true condenser microphones for a variety of sessions, Sweetwater studio engineers have yet to encounter a source for which they aren’t applicable. First, the MC 930s have a wide 40Hz to 20kHz frequency response, so they aptly capture nearly the entire audio spectrum. Their cardioid pickup patterns make them a great choice for both studio and stage, and they’re usable on more sources than typical small-diaphragm condenser mics thanks to having -15dB pads and low-cut filters (both switchable). Their high-power outputs are also atypical for mics at this price point, and the MC 930s require very little amplification. Finally, the MC 930s are usable with 11-volt to 52-volt phantom power.
