Incredibly Versatile Condenser Mic Having used the Beyerdynamic MC 930 true condenser microphone for a variety of sessions, Sweetwater studio engineers have yet to encounter a source for which it isn’t applicable. First, the MC 930 has a wide 40Hz to 20kHz frequency response, so it aptly captures nearly the entire audio spectrum. Its cardioid pickup pattern makes it a great choice for both studio and stage, and it’s usable on more sources than a typical small-diaphragm condenser mic thanks to having a -15dB pad and a low-cut filter (both switchable). Its high-power output is also atypical for a mic at this price point, and the MC 930 requires very little amplification. Finally, the MC 930 is usable with 11-volt to 52-volt phantom power.
