This Neumann U89 is believed to be a mid-1980s example with a desirable 4-digit serial number. Sound output is excellent, and all switches function properly. There is a dent in the grille and a small chip on the connector area, but the cable remains securely connected and this does not affect normal use.

Neumann U 87 AI Large Diaphragm Studio Recording Microphone Nickel Wooden Box
The U 87 Ai is Neumann’s most famous and widely used microphone. Accessories: Wooden Box. A switch on the rear of the microphone provides 10 dB pre-attenuation. When this switch is engaged, the microphone can handle sound pressure levels of up to 127 dB SPL (equivalent to 45 Pa) without distortion.
